Canon: a body of works considered genuine or official within a fictional universe.

Cannon: a tubular piece of artillery that uses gunpowder or usually explosive-based propellants to launch a projectile over a distance.

When people go on and on about "Gargoyles cannon" it makes me want to shoot them with one.
