Read here to see why the "public option" is not dead, it's just resting, and will return once the private health insurance industry is dead.

You WILL lose your private health insurance.

Everything I'm reading on the internet and in the papers tells me this bill is so FUBAR'ed at this point that the only sensible thing to do is kill it and start over.

Don Henley sues Senate candidate over song use

DeVore mentions Henley's legal actions on the Web site. "We're responding with a counter-claim, asserting our First Amendment right to political free speech," the site said.

I pity anyone who votes for a candidate who thinks that "political free speech" means you have a free pass to violate copyright law and steal someone's songs.

It's crazy how often international politics resembles an internet message board pissing contest...

NKorea: I has a missile!

USA: O RLY?

NKorea: YA RLY.

Japan: NO WAI.

UN_Mod: You'd better not launch that.

NKorea: LOL STFU

USA: No srsly.

NKorea: n00bz

Japan: Help plz?

NKorea:  Woot!  It's gone.  Now I has satellite!

USA: Sorry u fail.

NKorea: No 4 real.

UN_Mod: (is AFK)

Honest Abe tops new presidential survey

In overall rating, George W. Bush comes in 36th, or fifth from last, ahead of Millard Fillmore, Warren Harding, Franklin Pierce, and James Buchanan.  But... "the survey's participants ranked Bush 41st on international relations and 40th on economic management -- ahead of only Herbert Hoover."

Trivia:  Who was the first and only President to pay off the national debt?

Okay... seriously... WTF was with that guy asking Obama's opinion on Alex Rodriguez?  Congratulations, Mr. Reporter, you FAIL at Presidential press conference.  White House is serious business.

I'm still trying to get over the fact that he can pronounce "nuclear."   I'm sure going to miss the misunderestimating of subliminable strategery.

Federal and state taxes e-filed.  A decent refund coming.  Hooray for mortgage interest.

Tuning in to CNN now for Obama's first press conference.   They're just saying this is the earliest a newly sworn President has given a press conference in some time.  Bush didn't have one until October 2001 (after 9/11) and Clinton didn't have his first until June 1993.
