Ohio DOT finally decided on a temporary fix to avoid another disaster like Minneapolis: Trucks banned from I-90 bridgeI think what amuses me the most is reading the comments left by the clueless people who have no concept at all what it takes to design and build a mile-long bridge. Oh yeah... and the reason there's been fifteen years of studies is without any progress made towards a plan is because the city and all the community groups have never been able to reach consensus on ANYTHING. That's the main reason why nothing ever seems to get done around here until things either fall down or reach the point where they're so dangerous that they have to be closed off for the sake of safety. That's what happened with the Fulton Road Bridge a few years ago, and the new one isn't going to be finished until next summer. What I haven't heard yet is how they plan to enforce the "no trucks" thing, because I-90 has a LOT of trucks. It's going to be expensive to have the highway patrol sitting out there 24/7.
