Okay... seriously... WTF was with that guy asking Obama's opinion on Alex Rodriguez?  Congratulations, Mr. Reporter, you FAIL at Presidential press conference.  White House is serious business.

I'm still trying to get over the fact that he can pronounce "nuclear."   I'm sure going to miss the misunderestimating of subliminable strategery.

Federal and state taxes e-filed.  A decent refund coming.  Hooray for mortgage interest.

Tuning in to CNN now for Obama's first press conference.   They're just saying this is the earliest a newly sworn President has given a press conference in some time.  Bush didn't have one until October 2001 (after 9/11) and Clinton didn't have his first until June 1993.

"You know who should be bailing out the automakers?  The oil companies!" - Ashton Kucher, last night on Real Time with Bill Maher

It's scary when the opinions that make the most sense are coming from people like Michael Kelso. :P

Bailout bill FAILED in the House a few days ago and the Dow finished DOWN 700+ points.

Bailout bill PASSES in the House today and the Dow finished DOWN 150+ points.

The price of oil goes UP and analysts say that makes stocks go DOWN.

The price of oil goes DOWN and analysis say that makes stocks go DOWN.

Is there any fucking logic in economics at all? Or should I just stop looking for it?

Today's vote on the $700 billion band-aid for the economy:

In favor: 205 = 140 Democrats and 65 Republicans
Against: 228 = 95 Democrats and 133 Republicans

This tally was in spite of both Bush and McCain all but begging Congress to support this bill. To which I say to the Republicans in Congress, "OMGWTF???!!!!" Seriously, I thought this damn bill had more support among the Republicans than the Democrats. What the fuck is going on in Washington?

The Dow fell 778 points today, the worst single day point loss EVER. Sonofabitch! I would have been better off putting 5% of my paycheck for the last eight years into a mason jar than into that 401(k).
