Still alive.  Since getting home from The Gathering, I've been posting much more in Facebook, much less in LJ.  It seems I only have finite time for social  networking sites... which is why I'm still avoiding Twitter.  That and I do not have a phone that does text messages.  Farmville is the devil, btw.  Curse you, games that make me plan ahead for my next session!

No, I have not written a Gathering con journal yet.  I still don't quite feel like the con is over since I've still got a bunch of warp-up work to do.  Maybe once there's less con clutter laying around my home office, I'll be more in the mood.

Also been looking at October... where of course two different cons I'd like to attend both fall on the same weekend.  I wish HeroCon had a schedule telling me what time it begins on Saturday and what time it ends on Sunday.

Schedule for next month:

10/4: My birthday
10/18-10/21: L.A. & San Diego trip for [info]cinsangel's wedding on 10/19
10/22 or 23: ABCD trip to Mt. Vernon, Ohio (work stuff, tentative)
10/24-10/26: OVFF con in Columbus, Ohio (fannish stuff, would like to go)
10/28 or 29: OTEC conference in Columbus, Ohio (work stuff, have to go)
10/31: Halloween party

Every October gets like this. Something may have to give in the later half of the month. I hope the Mt. Vernon thing ends up moving early November, after OTEC, like others in the group seem to want.

Back from Arizona.  I miss everyone already.  Need a shower and food.  More to come later.

I'm heading out first thing in the morning on a flight to Phoenix, AZ.  I'll be there through the weekend attending CopperCon, but more importantly I'll be hanging out with a bunch of people from Gargoyles fandom, namely [info]crzydemona, [info]angelcarnivore, [info]gregx, [info]invisiblewolf, and that Greg Weisman guy.

I've really been looking forward to this all month, and not just because I've been promised some new pr0n artwork.   It's going to be nice having a vacation where I don't have to do much of anything.  I haven't been to a con that I wasn't also working at in a LONG while.

If the internet at the hotel is free, I'll probably be checking in from time to time.  If not, I'll be back on Monday night.

I leave for the airport in a little less than 48 hours and I am TOTALLY not ready to travel yet.  I still have work today and tomorrow, so I may be a bit frazzled if you see me online the next two nights.  I need to print Gathering flyers, print up some references for artwork, organize some music for on the plane, and PACK.

ZOMG!  :: flails ::

Bought my plane tickets to Phoenix for CopperCon.  Yipes... when I got to seat selection, there were only about ten seats left open on the return flight, none on the window and only one on the aisle.  Glad I didn't wait any longer because I hate the middle seats.

I've been looking over CopperCon's programming and some of the panels definitely sound... unique.  I haven't been to a con that wasn't The Gathering since OVFF a few years ago, so this should be interesting.  And seeing Jen, Mara, Greg, Lanny, and GREG (that Gargoyles creator guy) without the pressures of being on con staff is going to be sweet.

All right... off on a run to Target for curtain rods.  We're finally replacing the curtains that were here when we moved in FOUR YEARS AGO on the first floor.

I've gotten a couple days vacation time approved at the end of August so I can travel to Phoenix, AZ for CopperCon, where I'll be able to hang out with some friends and see all the Greg Weisman panels that I missed at The Gathering because I was working the registration desk.  Now all I have to do is get my travel squared away, pre-reg for the con, and confirm that the hotel room is taken care of because the CopperCon folks seem a little confused as to whether the room block ends on the 28th or the 31st.

It's not Comic Con, but then again I have a feeling I wouldn't find a convention center crowded with 45,000 people to be very relaxing anyway.
