Preview of Genesis from the Cleveland Plain Dealer

So hyper... one more day until the show.  I'll be checking out my window all day today at work, looking for the tour buses and trucks.  When Billy Joel came to the same venue, they parked all his stuff right across the street.

The Cleveland Indians are going to the playoffs.  Woot!  But I think we'll have to get past the New York Yankees in the first post-season series.  Damn Yankees.

My birthday is coming up, so I had to renew my drivers license.  They're taking the pictures now with a cheap web cam, so they're guaranteed to look like crap.  They don't print Social Security Numbers on the licenses anymore, so come 2011 when it's time for me to renew again, I'll have to bring my worn old Social Security Card with the signature from when I was twelve years old.  I can't figure out why the government issues a document that you're supposed to hold on to for your entire life on cheap paper that you're forbidden to laminate.

The Genesis concert in Cleveland is coming up this Saturday.  Can't wait!  :)

Did anyone see Genesis in Toronto, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Boston, Albany, Montreal, Ottawa, or Hartford?  I could have sworn at least one person at the Gathering mentioning they had tickets to one of the shows in Canada.  Very eager to hear reviews. :)

So they managed to work the Hawkmen into the new Flash Gordon series... sans flapping wings and clearly visible wires.  In this most recent episode, the plot thickens with the revelation that folks from Mongo have apparently been falling through "rifts" to Earth for over a decade, and bounty hunter Baylin assures Flash's mommy at the dinner table that "Your son and I are not mating."   Fun!  Hey Flash, can I see you at Camera 3 for a sec?

In other SciFi channel news, on the next episode of Eureka the leading man is supposed to become so irresistible that he's got to beat all the women off with sticks.  Will this mean we will finally get to see Gargoyles alum Salli Richardson in her underwear?  Fanboys everywhere can only hope.

Last night, I had a dream that Genesis performed at The Gathering of the Gargoyles, doing a concert in a tiny hotel auditorium like the one we had for the radio play at the 2004 con in Montreal. I was watching Genesis videos on YouTube while chatting with crzydemona about the con web site before I went to bed, so that probably had something to do with it.

We had several more inches of rain here yesterday. Everything has been all backwards this summer. June was dry, but the last half of July and August so far has been soaking wet. It's supposed to be sunny this weekend, though, so maybe my yard will dry out enough that I can do something with the bare ground where the hedge used to be. All the weedy vines are sprouting back up, so it's time for some chemical warfare.

Following up on yesterday's post, I found out what a "co-location facility" is. It's a building where dozens of businesses house their servers, so that large portions of the interwebs can fail all at the same time. Clever idea.

Genesis seems to be getting some good reviews for the shows they've done in Europe so far. The concert here is now seven weeks away, and the one in L.A. is nine weeks away. Can't wait to fly out to California in October for that and see crzydemona and cinsangel . It's been over a year now since I went anywhere on a plane.

This year has been flying by... hard to believe Labor Day is in a few more weeks.

Just reserved my flight to LA and back for the Genesis concert in October. Saw $275 for nonstop round-trip tickets and pounced.

I'm getting all psyched up for The Gathering of the Gargoyles next week. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be costuming for the Masquerade this year. So someone else will have a shot at the Gorelisa award for a change. ;)
